
Matthew R. Streger, Esq., is an Associate at Kern Augustine Conroy & Schoppmann, P.C., in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Mr. Streger focuses his practice on the legal needs of healthcare providers, specifically the litigation of complex healthcare matters. His practice includes administrative and licensure matters, civil litigation, criminal defense, hospital privilege matters and fair hearings, reimbursement issues and regulatory compliance. Mr. Streger holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, a Master of Public Administration from Clemson University in South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the U.S. District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Streger has over 23 years of experience in emergency services as a provider, manager, author and lecturer. He began his career in New Jersey as an EMT, paramedic, firefighter and dispatcher. He also practiced in New York, South Carolina and Ohio. He has served as the Deputy Commissioner of EMS for the City of Cleveland (OH) and the Director of Disaster Preparedness at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland.
Mr. Streger has written numerous articles, columns and contributed to various textbooks in the EMS industry. He sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of “Emergency Medical Services” Magazine, and previously served on the EMS Advisory Board for Primedia Workplace Learning. He was a member of the Task Force on Emergency Medical Services Leadership at The George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute, and was a facilitator and subject matter expert for the Federal Emergency Management Agency on the “America Responding – Needs Assessment of Emergency response to Terrorism Training for Fire and Emergency Service Personnel” report to Congress. Mr. Streger is a frequent lecturer in the legal and medical communities at the local, state and national levels. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and currently serves on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee as the Somerset County Representative.
